Flooding isn’t caused by one issue alone. It’s a mix of encroachments, poor SWD planning, garbage, electricity risks, construction debris - and also lack of civic sense. @chennaicorp @CMDA_Official @TANGEDCO_Offcl @CHN_Metro_Water must act together, but citizens too must play.

I’m sure @chennaicorp @TANGEDCO_Offcl @CHN_Metro_Water have the people and expertise to take this up and execute efficiently. Hope this thread sheds light on what’s needed. Please act at the earliest. Tax-paying residents cannot be made to suffer any longer. Ensure a city-wide.

💡Waste & Debris Management.Civic action also means proper waste handling. - Install small garbage bins at regular intervals + enough large bins where required.- Strictly enforce rules on construction debris:. - No dumping on roads. - Mandatory enclosures for lorries.

💡Shared Responsibility.Alongside government action, citizens also have a role to play:.- Educate communities on civic sense, empathy & accountability. Proper garbage disposal. - Stop dumping garbage into drains.- Residents can take small steps like sweeping leaves & disposing of.

💡. Rome wasn’t built in a day. But at least today, action can begin. Let this be Day 1. We need coordination among @chennaicorp @TANGEDCO_Offcl @CHN_Metro_Water etc. Visiting each of every office for works that need a collaborative effort is tough. We also are in desperate.

🚨Overflowing Sewage. @CHN_Metro_Water AE admits that large volumes of rainwater mix with sewage, causing overflows onto streets. That means filth + rainwater = biohazards entering residents’ homes during heavy rains. With more flats & taller buildings, population density has.
