Not that the deficit is something to be scared of, since the fed. govt can never be unable to pay its debts; but it does matter whether you give money to the rich or invest it in making the society stronger.
Three consecutive Democratic Presidents have lowered the deficit. Three consecutive Republican Presidents have raised it, none more than Trump. There is only one fiscally responsible party in America - the Democratic Party.

We could do this, too, if we actually cared.
“In Finland, the # of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

Good graphic. But a person who makes less than what they need to live on (eg $41k depending on location) shouldn't have to pay any taxes at all.

Most of what is taught in HS isn't useful to most students. Not surprising: college profs outside the STEM fields rate linear functions, exponential functions, and stats as more widely useful and important than trig or calc. https://t.co/Vv0OH2CXJG

We ditched our gas stove for an induction stove and it's MUCH BETTER FOR COOKING on top of having the advantage of not poisoning us or contributing to global warming.
This should be making a much bigger splash: clear evidence that the American Gas Assoc. has known about the health threats of indoor gas for decades & has used tobacco-industry tactics to obscure & mislead about them.

Breathtaking summary of the extensive grift by Ivanka and Jared.
"How is that fair?" My 24-minute deep-dive on @MSNBConPeacock, comparing Jared and Ivanka's grift, conflicts of interest, payments from foreign governments, and alleged corruption and cover-ups with... Hunter Biden's. Watch/share: https://t.co/pyBLkXE5sy

To start, let's quit calling it "natural gas" and call it methane.
A new study just found that 12.7% of childhood asthma is caused by gas stoves. That's 647,000 children. The gas industry has known about these risks for decades. But they've spent millions lobbying and running misinformation campaigns to prevent regulation.

Billionaires spent almost $1B on the midterms. That isn’t "support the candidates you believe in" kind of money. It’s “buy a Congress to pass even more tax cuts for the rich” kind of money. To save our democracy, we need to tax the ultra-rich NOW.
fortune.com
Billionaire spending in the 2022 midterm elections was up 44% compared to 2018–but a minimum income tax on billionaires is gaining support in Congress.

Me too! #CLR .@LSAlliance_chi
#lessonstudy has brought me tough teaching problems to solve and a community of friends to work together on them. This is hard work, but it’s joyful, and I’m so grateful for all y’all.
