To me the biggest indictment of Rizzo is that the last 1st round draft pick to become a significant contributor to the @Nationals was Rendon in 2011. Just an extraordinary track record of failure, and he leaves, despite “the rebuild,” a weak player pipeline behind.
This graphic just is mind- blowing and a stain directly on the drafting and player development. It certainly supports the @Ken_Rosenthal article on May 27.

Not about a rebuild. Rizzo has made many, many recent mistakes:.- worst bullpen in baseball.- Mendoza line DH.- Big bet on C Ruiz failed.- weak farm system, decade+ of first round draft pick failures.- so many high quality players gone, sends signal club doesn’t care.-.
The Washington Nationals bullpen for the season has a 5.91 ERA, just 9 points from the 6.00 mark. They are by far the worst bullpen in baseball with a payroll that is just above league average on bullpen salaries. Year after year, it's inexcusable. The Texas Rangers are at 3.34.
