The nursery school my daughter goes to has huge 4x4s reversing along pavements and idling outside her school gates at pick up and drop off times, and it feels no space is sacred. LTNs have dramatically improved walking routes in my area, and I'd love to see more.

Thanks for attending court and reporting back @countcaspargh . I'm not worried about the custodial sentence length as much as the length of ban - as is said elsewhere an insult to her memory, the police and indeed all of us.

Back from court. The driver was steering with his knees, because he was sucking from a NOx balloon shortly before he killed Maria Gonzalez Perera. He got a 3y 2m sentence, reduced to 1y 8m. Police not happy, family distraught.

Yes, dangerous cyclists need dealing with. But, since the first tragedy in this piece in the Times occurred, drivers have killed over 15,000 people. Less than 30 have been killed by people cycling. Where’s the press about the 5 driving killers a day?
