Here's trouble! First (very stroppy) male Green Hairstreak on the Stroud Commons today. The 6th time I've seen GH out in March in 33 years here. @BC_Glos

What a moth! Emperor moths are begin to appear now. The males are strong fliers and fly during the day. Their orange appearance in flight can be confused with small tortoishells The females are greyer, larger, lack feathered antenna and not as intensely active as the males.
