Don't mind waiting at temporary 4 way traffic lights when there's a Kestrel hovering close by and the camera is on the front seat. #flyday

It’s looking like a good year for Clouded Yellow in Warwickshire. Twelve records on iRecord so far. It helps that the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) is providing some suitable pollen and nectar sources! @BCWarwickshire @savebutterflies

An unexpected encounter with a Kestrel that was in the field beyond the gate when it flew onto the gate in front of me. Don't know if I was more surprised than the bird!! @RSPBEngland

Jeremy Clarkson says his cows have TB. Again. He also claims to have already killed the badgers on his farm. So what now? This is the ugly truth about bovine TB that the government and the farming lobby don’t want to admit: killing badgers doesn’t work. For over a decade,

We've been out talking to nature reserve visitors about why dogs need to be on a lead. Nik and Michael were at Beechwoods near Cambridge yesterday to chat with dog walkers and give out leaflets. The site has had several issues with dogs off leads including one visitor bitten.

Three million cheers! The Clouded Yellows are in, & they've reached N Wilts and The Cotswolds! 3-4 today on the Marlborough Downs, and 2 in a lucerne field near Cirencester. Just love their green, green eyes... Party time.

Deeply saddened to hear of so many redundancies at @savebutterflies, most in front line butterfly+moth conservation. A huge loss of expertise just when needed. Also cessation of international work. Let’s hope their finances recover soon when so many species are in dire trouble

What a moth! Emperor moths are begin to appear now. The males are strong fliers and fly during the day. Their orange appearance in flight can be confused with small tortoishells The females are greyer, larger, lack feathered antenna and not as intensely active as the males.
