Medical industry in America is nuuuuts.
Wild to me that pediatricians are recommending weight-loss drugs to kids. These drugs:.- kids stay on for life to maintain weight loss.- are appetite suppressants during developmental years.- cost $10k+/yr.- cause muscle loss .- no impact on inflammation or other chronic disease

This is a good takeaway. Startups often try to “scale” before they make it work without the scale.
3. Do direct sales. The key to restarting growth after I went all in was direct sales. As a content marketer, I was only interested in scalable growth channels. I was so wrong!. Do things that don’t scale, because that enables the channels that do scale.

Just using Coinbase as an example. Could have been any other growth company, their charts all look the same.
Coinbase raised money in 2018 at an $8b valuation. It's currently trading at a $9b valuation. Meanwhile:. 2018 Revenues: $520m.2022 Revenues: $3.3b. 2018 Users: 22m.2022 Users: 101m. 2018 Assets on Platform: $11b.2022 Assets on Platform: $101b.

Pretty sad, because research/data shows that if you have success (or not) with your first few investments it shapes your view of the investment class. I.e. if you invest in stocks and they go down for a year, you’re likely to dismiss stocks for the rest of your lifetime.

This last two years could see a whole cohort of people quit investing. Imagine buying stocks for the first time in 2020. Everything’s up. Fresh SPACs and IPOs weekly. Crypto. Growth hype. Now you’re sitting on Coinbase stock that went from $86b to $8b in less than a year. 😢

About 6 weeks ago I cancelled my Sky Broadband and they said I should receive a refund for the month end. Didn’t received it. Called them. They said it’s held “in credit”. I wonder how much credit they have on the books and never actually refund to customers? 🧐.
