@DrJBhattacharya The marketplace of ideas may not work perfectly, and at times, the truth may not be revealed soon enough to prevent harm. But it's far better than governments having the power to dictate what is true or false, censoring what it deems misinformation. Determination of what is true

@mattyglesias What do you mean by "transgender rights"? The right to wear a dress to work -- sure, argued based on freedom and equality. The right to make people pretend you're a woman -- you'll need to argue *against* freedom and equality.

I went to public school. I loved it. I excelled there. And though I was aware of some of the public school insanity in recent years, I thought we'd mostly dodged it. I always expected my kids to attend our local school. This year has been a nightmare. Astonishingly, not because

The MN Supreme Ct.'s decision requiring USA Powerlifting to include trans-ID males likely conflicts w/ federal civil rights law. Great insights from @SarahPPerry in the thread below.

That has the practical effect of preventing USA powerlifting from ever excluding trans-identified males in women's divisions. This cannot be the right outcome, considering the fact that such prevention would violate the federal Civil Rights Act by discriminating AGAINST female

Grab your 1L notes (if you took any) and reexamine the concept of preemption. As if written in children's scribbles, your new laws glibly cross the constitutional line. The Supremacy Clause belies your driveling defense of these new laws targeting federal law enforcement.

State law most certainly does apply to federal agents. You’re committing malpractice by repeatedly advising federal agents to ignore state law. They ignore state law at their legal peril.

The Minnesota Supreme Court has ruled girls and women's sports to be unlawful based on a...male *powerlifter's* claim that excluding him from competing against women violated the state's public accommodation law. As with the ACLU's repeated advocacy on behalf of male rapists

I think that even people in the movement to end pediatric gender medicine are going to be stunned to learn how many kids have been medicalized. We really have no idea. It is looking like all of the numbers to date have been fraudulently and significantly manipulated by providers.

The core premise of "trans rights" is that a person's inner desire to falsify their sex can impose a duty on others to aid them in that falsification and that the state should enforce this duty. This is of course not a right but a demand that violates the basic rights of
