Using the structure of #ATTR fibrils, a novel peptide was designed to bind ex vivo ATTR fibrils, in vitro transthyretin aggregates, & high molecular weight ATTR species in patient plasma. These findings may reveal new insights & therapeutic targets for ATTR #amyloidosis

Iβm so happy to share this exciting first from our lab! Blessed to be a part of such an amazing team lead by the amazing @SaelicesL π
This just happened! I am extremely proud of my team for all their hard work, patience, and perseverance. The first research article from our laboratory is now available on @NatureComms! We found an unprecedented structural variability in ATTR fibrils! 1/n https://t.co/ryuEnDI93p

Hey friends & colleagues! My student @_ahmed_yasmin needs help! His little brother was recently diagnosed with a rare brain tumor that required emergency surgery. Her family had to stay in LA for surgery and rehab, & costs are insane. Please RT & donate https://t.co/Aj5OL6U5Fh π

Honored and grateful to be a part of this massive effort lead by @SaelicesL and first author @culkat5 where we attempt to glean a better understanding of the structural variabilities associated with #ATTR amyloidosis #cryoem
Iβm immensely proud and happy to share our first paper, an outstanding team effort of a junior lab, in the middle of a pandemic, and starting with limited #cryoEM expertise. A thread.
