Engineers should spend at least 10-20% of the time talking to the customers directly. Engineers learn the most from talking with customers.

How does this have to do with "CUDA moat" (or swamp, depends on the way you look at it)? Or does this just rhyme well?
BREAKING CUDA MOAT EXPANDS: Today, NVIDIA has acquired SchedMD, makers of SLURM, a widely used "open source" workload scheduler. Many AI companies such as Mistral, Thinking Machines, parts of Meta's FAIR division, university academic labs use SLURM. NVIDIA's acquisition expands

I think computer architecture phd training should be one idea, one paper, one tape-out. Everyone needs to shoot for an idea they can actually build, not something in their dreams.

Name companies in NA that ship AI cards to customers. You won't get a handful. Shipping is hard. That's also why I am very critical of comp. arch. conferences. Reviewers hunt for novelty and complexity but how useful it is if no one can actually build it, let alone use it?

Didn't know they were taping out their own chips. Huge congrats 👏

No one reads the content on a poster. I only put a one liner on my poster and a QR code. I try to convince my audience they should learn about my work in one sentence. If they are interested, scan the QR code. In the future, I can include a notebooklm generated audio as podcast.

Love this. It's rare to see a good poster presenter. 99.9% of poster sessions are a waste of time and everyone knows it. I think every poster should look like an ads on highway 101 otherwise it's a waste of paper.
We need more senior researchers camping out at their posters like this. Managed to catch 10 minutes of Alyosha turning @anand_bhattad’s poster into a pop-up mini lecture. Extra spark after he spotted @jathushan. Other folks in the audience: @HaoLi81 @konpatp @GurushaJuneja.

As a robotics researcher, I’ve always had the urge to learn the full stack: Control, SLAM, ML Infra, Web, Mobile, Cloud, CNC, PCB, Firmware, DataOps, Supply Chain ... But usually, I'm surrounded by people with similar skill set as me. Here, I sit across the desk from deep

The future of helpful homes is being shaped by a team thats turning academic breakthroughs into real products. We’re looking for optimistic experts and pragmatic pioneers ready to tackle the hardest...
It started with @tonyzzhao and @chichengcc in their apartment in April 2024. We moved out of our hacker house in Mountain View in February of 2025 with 10 people. Today, we have over 30 team members. Velocity of progress to a real, useful robot is everything to us. The progress

Congrats @chichengcc for the successful launch! Looking forward to more amazing Memo vids to come out and hope to own it in my place one day!
After 18 months in stealth, dozens of prototypes, millions of real-home demonstrations, and one final all-nighter, we’re thrilled for you to say hello to Memo

Proposal: US hosts GPUs in China. Seems win-win🤔
GOLDMAN: CHINA’S POWER SURPLUS MAY BOOST AI LEAD Goldman Sachs says China’s fast-growing electricity supply could give it an edge in AI data centers. By 2030, China may have 400 GW of spare power—far above global data-center needs—while the US faces tight grids and rising

IMO the FFmpeg account shouldn't be endorsing content like this. Programmers need to wear shoes while coding. Who are we if programming without shoes on? Barbarian? We still need some human decency.
IMO the FFmpeg account should be endorsing content like this I don't like the aversion to university. IMO the vast, vast majority of people on this platform should to go university & try fundamentals If you find work or get funding then sure drop out, but give it a chance first
