News of yet another commission on social care (due 2028) is no comfort for either those who rely on or deliver support. We already know most of the answers but, due to the Autumn budget, the critical funding question will need an answer long before 2028.

Just last month we were delighted to host Minister @SKinnock to see our eye care work in action delivering some of the big shifts in NHS care. However NHS changes and cuts to funding to the special schools eye care service risk undoing this good work.

And we have signed and support this  @LGAcomms statement, calling for government to work with people in social care and invest in it – with councils, providers and charities unable to fund the Autumn budget costs. #FutureOfASC
