New paper from the lab out today on how the assembled HIV-1 capsid mimics nuclear transport receptors to pass the nuclear pore complex. Fantastic collaboration with Dirk Görlich @mpi_nat ! https://t.co/e364y6Nh1B

Congratulations to all the labs that have contributed to this extraordinary feat @hoelza @Beck_Laboratory @jankosinski @WuLabHarvard and others. Looking forward to seeing the structural knowledge being used for detailed functional analyses in the future.

Very sad to see Ned Seeman pass away. One of my favorite papers from grad school, back then in the pre-PDF era proudly photocopied in the cavernous MIT library. One of the great Rich lab alumni. What an inspiration he was.

A team led by @aschuller17 & @schwartzlabmit found a way to analyze the nuclear pore complex directly inside cells. The pore has larger dimensions than previously thought—showing just how vital it is to study complex molecules in their native environments: https://t.co/Ilk3Sh1Unw
