Insects build specialised muscles in one animal? Flight muscle sarcomeres oscillating at 200Hz with gigantic A-bands vs regular larval sarcomeres. How? Solution: 1. I-band titin isoforms 2. Mechanical feedback from I- to A-band. Took 10 years to figure out https://t.co/n5Vz4zH4r8

Finally, time to move over also for me. This will be my last post on what used to be something cool and useful before it was conquered by the universe of mis-information.

Another day – another preprint. Wen Lu demonstrated that kinesin-1 and kinesin-5 form a dynamic duo in their non-canonical function. Kinesin-1 slides microtubules and kinesin-5 is a dynamic brake. Without kinesin-5 axons elongate too much and miss the target. Link in the comment

Congrats Alphee, but so sad to lose one of my most fun colleagues; further good news: we keep up our collaboration funded by CNRS
I am pleased to announce that my lab will be moving to the @MBIsg at the National University of Singapore this fall for a joint appointment with the @CNRS. Sad to leave my wonderful colleagues from @IBDMmarseille, but so excited to discover this great new scientific environment!

How do #stemcells integrate information to make fate decisions? Check out our latest preprint where we find that growth factors regulate the mechano-osmotic state of the #nucleus and #chromatin to determine whether to retain or exit #pluripotency🧵👇 https://t.co/CB1vIDUFbX

Force regulation of myogenesis by Tono, a BTB-Zn finger transcriptional regulator, which forms droplets after acute high pressure application. It responds in 1 minute :) - in yellow in the nuclei https://t.co/cdbNQwPj3j Congrats to Xu Zhang and @JrmAvellaneda #Drosophila #muscle

Our great pleasure 😀
Thank you Marseille. You were sizzling hot, deliciously different, and outstandingly cool. Stay as you are (but lower temperatures would be ok too). Thanks @christlet for great culinary and balneary suggestions. And @SchnorrerL and Bianca for being amazing friends and hosts.
