I’m thrilled to announce I’m joining @MITBiology as an Assistant Professor! I can’t wait to be part of this fantastic community of scientists and educators. We work on the molecules, cells and functions of sensory signaling in the airways. Stay tuned!

Breathing is so important for life that we’ve evolved many pathways to protect it. My former colleagues Mike Schappe and @SLiberles discovered a new vagal circuit that makes us gasp upon airway collapse, answering a long-held mystery about why NEBs are innervated. Beautiful work!

Very cool paper from the Liberles lab about a vagal reflex for airway closure. Lucky for me, I'm here at @HHMINEWS HQ with Steve and the first author Michael hearing about this beautiful work firsthand. https://t.co/QviG1iiARt

A new test is the first of its kind to evaluate #laryngopharyngeal sensation by assessing sensitivity & safety in swallowing. It also has the potential to monitor head & neck cancer patients going through radiation treatments, UCSF's Dr. Clark Rosen says.
