It's almost as if all lazy humans agreed that instead of *feeling bad* about not doing the work: building society, sustaining complex thought, having hard conversations, containing emotions, being generous, etc., they'd all just make *ideologies* of why it's more moral not to.

So, we need evidence from the IDF that the media building was used by Hamas, but no evidence from Hamas when it tells us the number of non combatants killed, or by whose fire they were killed? What exactly is it about Hamas that says “trustworthy?” Is it the outfits?

@EinatWilf More: World media & activists speak about “the children of Gaza”, never about adults, even those who put them in harm’s way. The entire concept of poor Palestinians is embodied by empathy for children, while (even dead) Israelis are “settlers”, never children, even if they are.

The more interesting part of this story is that the Swedes burnt the Quran in front of a mosque, and the Hebrew Bible not in front of a synagogue - but the Israeli Embassy. Let all who wish to claim that hatred for Jews and Israel are separate issues explain this to me.

@hahussain Of all things that “are a social construct” I think we can conclude by now that “right” & “left” r leftovers of a bygone era. We have, instead, ppl who want to live in a better world, embrace pragmatism, complexity; a simplistic cult of victim worship; & those who worship power.

If you watched these moments unfold you understand Israel: 1- make impossible, amazing progress 2- to outsized, sappy fanfare from usually cynical people 3- partially fail, even catastrophically 4- don’t miss a beat; cue optimism, resillience, resolve 5- all in minutes.

@wil_da_beast630 Narrator: When you consistently hide in a tunnel full of explosives which you've placed under a residential area, sure that they will never target you bc they really don't want to kill civilians, never give them a good reason to scrap that instinct by cutting up their children.

@hahussain This very thing drives me completely nuts. The anti racist racism of assuming no one “oppressed” has agency, and that lived experience does not count on other shores. It’s not only racist and arrogant but so destructive. From people who fly the flag of progress & empathy all day.

@KonstantinKisin @ConceptualJames Thank you. Problem is, the answer isn’t a swing back the other way. But some type of normal situation where people can openly express themselves as humans and stop obesessing over race as a criteria for respect (or denying it). Did this ever exist?

@yashar 💯 In 2005, Israel pulled all soldiers & settlers out of Gaza on this type of woozy swaggering hope. Hamas moved right in, terrorized the populace, burned agriculture that could make life better for Palestinians & started firing rockets at Sderot & building tunnels w world aid.

Terrorists surrender outside a hospital. Jeez. Are there *any* hospitals in Gaza that are actually hospitals?? Or is hospital in Gaza like saying “waste management” or “massage parlor” or “UN backed Humanitarian NGO”?

@hahussain Also interesting that Aaron's own family isn't demanding "return" to Hungary; his grandparents, like mine, were kicked out by the Nazis, their families killed, survived camps, yet -we all made homes in other countries and moved on. Why are only some people expected to move on?

@sfrantzman Once again - the Jews being falsely accused of controlling everything for money is merely an accusation based on what our enemy is actually doing.
