We are celebrating the newest inductees to @CWOFame for the discovery of insulin. Dr. Best recognized the need for an org. to advocate for & support Canadians w/ diabetes. He was behind the Diabetic Association of Ontario in the 40’s which led to DC today. https://t.co/3f6wKac6nO

The patchwork of provincial and school board policies to keep kids with #T1D or other medical conditions safe at school across 🇨🇦Canada is appaling. The country celebrating 100 years since the discovery of insulin can and must do better.

What an awful story. ☹️ This 5yo is going w/o insulin at lunch & spending afternoons at 15-20 mmol/L (270-360 mg/dl) because the school isn’t required to have anyone to help inject. I know a mom in SK who had to quit her job to go give insulin every lunch.

Schools📚should stay open even if there's a 3rd wave of #COVID19, experts say. Doctors say benefit and necessity of education outweigh risk to kids https://t.co/5yj1ws5afe via @cbcnews @kwadwo777 #onpoli

A third wave of COVID-19 in Ontario may be inevitable, but this time around many experts say the province’s schools should stay open.

Absolutely all the studies are pointing to same thing. Scotland and UK experience agrees with our prospective study here. 3+ times increased risk in #T1D.

Like so many, I’m working from home while supporting 3 kids who are doing remote learning. I’m a single mother. My 5-year-old can’t do this alone. My 12-year-old needs a chrome book. My 15-year-old needs extra math help. It’s only 10am. It’s going to be a long week.😳

#MindfulMonday. Accept your thoughts/feelings as they arise in response to daily stressors rather than trying to get rid of them or judging yourself for having them. Acceptance of your inner experience can be learned, practiced and can help you adapt. #mindfulness @ALCDSBmysp
