If any councillor wishes to show their support, then check out this link. It is important to send a strong message to the Premier that the use of the notwithstanding clause is not the answer. Link to sign on:
15 mayors asked, at the request of the Premier, that Ontario invoke the notwithstanding clause to clear encampments. I stand with 40 councilors from across Ontario, some in those communities, asking that the request be rescinded and the Premier work on solutions not litigation.

I’d written in April 2022 prior to the Sarah Jama saga how even parties like the NDP are at best clueless when it comes to creating safe spaces for Black people to thrive. “I was continually told to sit down and shut up,” one now-former MPP told me then.
