Good for the Trustees. What do you have to lose at this point with Calandra aiming to eliminate all Trustees? Time to fight, for the good of our kids! Toronto Catholic trustees plot meeting, consider taking Ford government to court https://t.co/KcOZpTbxdX

If any councillor wishes to show their support, then check out this link. It is important to send a strong message to the Premier that the use of the notwithstanding clause is not the answer. Link to sign on:
15 mayors asked, at the request of the Premier, that Ontario invoke the notwithstanding clause to clear encampments. I stand with 40 councilors from across Ontario, some in those communities, asking that the request be rescinded and the Premier work on solutions not litigation.

Bring legislated poverty to an end! During the height of the pandemic, CERB provided a basic income of $2,000 a month; ODSP and OW barely cover half of that. I am calling for the doubling of ODSP and OW so Ontarians can afford to live. #onpoli

It seems the Ministry will be conducting the audit of the CASs Let’s be clear the Ministry oversees the mess we are in. How does @fordnation think the Ministry conducting an audit of itself will find anything but it wants to. https://t.co/dcBTSJP9qj

Two unions representing 8,200 child protection workers say the premier's comments were meant to distract from the failure to help kids in crisis.

Oof there is simply too much to quote here. I urge you to read every word and reflect. “Jama’s sanctioning by her party sends a message that settler colonial institutions seek only to keep their structure and power unchanged,” says @blacklikewho

They never want us to speak. We get blamed for our truths. Our experiences are secondary to theirs. Rather than help someone craft a statement, we push Black folks out and wonder why it always looks the same. Proud of @SarahJama_. 💜✊🏾💜
I’d written in April 2022 prior to the Sarah Jama saga how even parties like the NDP are at best clueless when it comes to creating safe spaces for Black people to thrive. “I was continually told to sit down and shut up,” one now-former MPP told me then.

Morning thoughts: Given that I didn’t name the protest, and people saw themselves and their plans for today in my post about organizing around hate… well… that kinda proves my point.

If people are organizing around hate, and we acknowledge that they are organizing around hate, why are you giving them space to gather? How is that being “here for” queer and trans communities? This is under you’re control. And no statement makes any of this better. 🤦🏾♀️
