So tired of ‘jokes’ about how incompetent women find their husbands to be. Its sad when men: -order random stuff instead of groceries -are overwhelmed by childrearing duties their wife do daily -have no emotional literacy & expect women to regulate them #tragedyofheterosexuality

I'm thrilled to share a blog I wrote for the national initiative to #EndGBV on Canadian campuses. I share findings from my PhD research on youth trauma survivors & #consent, & offer a practical tool for implementing #traumainformed consent education https://t.co/6tIoEAnxhg

This survivor's articulation of the aftermath of sexual violence on campus reflects the findings of the 2019 report we released at @SIVUofT on the state of campus GBV at U of T. Unfortunately, the findings are still relevant. Report here: https://t.co/4sUhZtziPy #endgbv

I’ve been grappling with what support, accountability, and healing look like after experiencing sexual violence, particularly on university campuses. Thank you to @TheVarsity for letting me write about it. https://t.co/gj0jKpfl7B

We can't talk about ending gender-based violence without discussing violence against sex workers. Sex workers are at the forefront of critical struggles for racial justice, gender justice & the labour movement. We refuse to be left out of the conversation. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏿 #GBV #Dec6

On #December6 we recognize the National Day on Action on Violence Against Women. ✊ Our feminist struggles must include sex workers and the fight for sex workers rights. We're central in struggles for #LGBTQ rights, #BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo and more! #EndGBV #GBV #Dec6

It’s time to turn our rage into political action so that peoples lives can be better. Song Yang is an example of why the Nordic model doesn’t work. We must decriminalise sex work.” @jessicaramos

If I say I was raped, but not by whom, you’ll say it can’t be proven. If I say his name, you’ll say it violates due process. What you mean in both instances is that what happened to me only matters, is only real, if men can be convinced it’s true, and you are rarely convinced.

If u don’t #ListentoSexWorkers you’re not actually anti-rape If u don’t see when ppl consent affirmatively u also don’t see when ppl withdraw consent Until we recognize ppl’s agency to make decisions in complex lives, we fail to believe/support survivors when they come forward

for anyone outside the paywall re: how to help homeless: - dollarama's 50% wool work socks (all sizes) > sweat socks - refillable/thermal bottles > disposable water bottles - 4x6 tarps > useless mylar blankets - a cheap 3-4 man tent is a life-saving gift

Giving donations is a wonderful, generous practice. Because I respect it, and the money and time private individuals put into it, I want to give some input.
