*Updated pinned tweet*. Apart from one (apparently very useful) thread on behaviour to start, I’ve collated a selection of the threads I’ve written about teaching various aspects of Primary English for easy reference:.
Behaviour Toolkit (v2) - a thread. I find it useful to have a simplified overview of high utility behaviour management strategies on my desk. I choose one or two each week that I’m going to make a conscious effort to improve. (I explain each strategy in more detail below ⬇️)

With so many well researched and evidence-based approaches to improving reading fluency available, I'm looking to dive deeper into which approach may be best for a given stage in reading development. Any recommended reading? @Suchmo83 @ReadingForum_Ed @ReadingShanahan.
What if a simple, structured peer reading routine could triple students’ reading fluency growth without extra adult support? . In 2017, Brown et al. tested this with ‘Dyad Reading’. The results were interesting. Here is what they found and how it works 🧵⬇️.

A great blog (from an excellent and thoughtful practitioner you should be following) highlighting the potential benefits of incorporating writing fluency sessions into the classroom. I’m not sure where it’ll fit in my timetable, but I’ll be making at least a little room for it!.
A drill that practices the action you want is worth a thousand words of explanation. Part 1 of this series is about using short free-writes to build fluency and how to connect that foundation to the skills you teach throughout the year.
