Duffer Bros told Lucas to look at the camera and say "i dont believe in coincidences" Then they proceeded to fill the episodes with coincidences just to do nothing with them. hell yeah, hire them for another show asap! #conformitygate

As I just commented to a friend, history is interesting, complex, diverse, and fascinating enough without you have to resort to such mad nonsense
Those commenting about London being popular with foreigners.. er, yes. A city founded by Italians, turned into a national capital by the French, which boomed under an imported German monarchy. The most open, world city on the planet - if that concerns you, you don’t get London

What journalist has ever got an illuminating answer from 'you are a lying bastard aren't you?' Zero analysis of weighty topics like tax system, child poverty trends, how to fix welfare etc.

Kuenssberg as usual making journalism to look like an amateur profession. Full of the usual questions highlighted by @steverichards14 as shining light on absolutely nothing. What possible information can public get from a question like: 'chancellor will you be here next year?'

After @polcurrency latest episode on the abysmal messaging around the budget, I may have slightly lost it when it comes to meme creation

Whatever other criticisms I have of the 'New Labour' gov - it saw record investment in public services, the greatest redistribution of wealth in UK history, and unprecedented drop in child poverty, homelessness etc. All inconvenient for those wishing to stereotype Blairism

What absolute nonsense from Jon Sopel on the @TheNewsAgents calling today's budget too "un-New Labour" for abolishing the child tax benefit cap. Do wonder if Gordon Brown's chancellorship had been wiped from his memory.

Yep. And a tax whose absence is very noticeable in Germany
Counterpoint: the sugar tax, supported by 7/10 people, is not 'hated'. The amount of sugar companies put in fizzy drinks has broadly halved, with academic studies showing an 8% fall in childhood obesity. Tea is not pre-sugared by tea makers - that'd be very 'un-British'.

Huge congrats to Prof Lyndal Roper @OxfordHistory for winning the 2025 Cundill History. "Summer of fire and blood : the German Peasants' War" is an epic & definitive history of the C16 uprising that revolutionised Europe. Several copies in @bodleianlibs

And supported by a majority of Labour and even Green voters. Not saying I agree with them at all . But the notion that airing them is uniquely Tommy Robinson's victory - as the likes of the News Agents and others are quick to claim... well I wish it was that simple
The Home Secretary is trying to persuade us her new draconian proposals will stop fascists winning. But Labour's plans are celebrated by Tommy Robinson. So maybe they already did. https://t.co/IHLj9rrPIo

Because according to poll after poll they are currently in line to form the next government. I don't like it either, but the answer is finding arguments which convince the public there is a better alternative not complaining they appear on TV
Why is there a completely unelected representative of a party with 5 MPs being asked the exact same questions about a major incident, only minutes after the entirely elected Secretary of Defence answered them? #bbclaurak

'The Diplomat' Season 3 is audacious and jaw-dropping, cementing it as TV's best political thriller https://t.co/idMaZlyp5b

The problem I have with The Diplomat (S3 just dropped) is everyone is such a masterclass I end up having to watch every fucking scene twice just to catch it all and soak in it like a warm bubble bath of talent.

In August, it was 20 years since the death of Robin Cook – probably New Labour's best performer in the House. This clip is one of only two times he handled PMQs and shows how assured he was at the despatch box: https://t.co/qyu4WwltJz

Labour needs to keep screaming at these people that they were in power for 14 years. Their lack of shame is infuriating

Always amazed by political journalists mangling famous politics quotes or getting basic history wrong. Most of us manage to remember this stuff when it's our outside interest not main job

I remember when Charlie Kirk peddled Russian propaganda to facilitate their genocide of Ukrainian women and children. He absolutely knew that he was lying in this ridiculous statement. This is how I will remember him. A reprehensible person who was a traitor to American values.
