Enjoyed learning Spanish and Portuguese with @duolingo but just cancelled my subscription. DL turned itself into a school with a rigid curriculum taking away all choice. Even for paying users. Weird choice and I'm really sad about it. cc @LuisvonAhn #duolingoupdate.

@businessbarista The way video content is created and distributed. Video feels like it's still in the age of print books, where everybody gets exactly the same, and fixing one typo or editing mistake means sending the whole book back to the printer.

@elonmusk @IGN Taco Bell in Demolition Man was paid product placement. Pizza Hut was used outside the US tho, because it is a much larger brand in most countries. Both brands are owned by Yum! Brands. At @InfuseVideo we want to empower all creators to create these types of product placement.

Five years ago I traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal to do a 10-day #Vipassana at #dhammashringa. Western meditation techniques I learned before always included controlling your breathing, whereas Vipassana is about just observing. It's hard to fully describe how valuable this was.

Currently working on an overview of companies in the video market. First category: synthetic video, deepfake and AI. This technology is mostly used to call people by name in 1:1 videos. It's regularly used in e-commerce, but can also be used to create automated video from text.

Misdroeg je je, dan was er een moderator die je eruit trapte of je verbande (fora, chats). Het grote verschil is dat die moderatie op de moderne platforms volledig ontbreekt.

@AlexanderNL Ik was de afgelopen weken in Uruguay, en daar zie je vrijwel alleen Chinese elektrische auto's, en veel ook. Betaalbaar en echt mooie en moderne interieurs. Door importheffingen e.d. hebben mensen in Europa en de VS geen flauw idee hoe hard ze in China gaan nu, inclusief export.

@wvlith @Lisawesterveld Dat komt omdat de VVD een partij voor meer individualistische mensen is, terwijl je bij GroenLinks meer voor solidariteit en voor het klimaat stemt. Uiteindelijk word ik daar ook vrolijker van, een *samen*leving, ook al houd ik als individu minder geld over.

@SuperSaf There's a lot to like about iPhones. But if you've been an Android user for a long time, the lack of a good keyboard and the back button are painful. FaceID, general speed and smoothness, MacOS integration, MagSafe, battery life consistency are all awesome though!.

@pmarca The problem with fighting misinformation is that we're fighting symptoms instead of the root cause. Misinformation can be a problem but censorship is not the solution and will probably just increase the problem and make it even harder to see the root causes.

@202accepted Had the same experience. Authentic Asian food while traveling. Felt great and fit. Not hungry. Just great. Then back to Europe and the US and immediately felt worse. And hungry more often for some reason. It's really hard to get genuinely healthy food in restaurants here.
