As we wrap up this term in Congress, I’m reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished together, and on the fights that we still have ahead of us. It has meant so much to me to be your champion. Here are some of the highlights:

I am horrified by the unprovoked, heinous attacks against Israel by Hamas—a terrorist organization. I stand in strong support of our ally Israel and the Israeli people as they fight to defend themselves and protect their sovereignty.

Extreme MAGA Republicans in the House continue to coddle serial fraudsters like George Santos. And then want America to believe they care about the truth. Get lost.

Weird day online. Slate says I’m a secret Republican, but Fox News says I lead a left-wing street gang. Both are wrong, and most people are sick of lazy clickbait like this. In truth I’m a rural Democrat and pro-choice working mom — same as always.

I can’t say how upsetting it is: I voted for this money and took a lot of heat from GOP. Mace didn’t but is happy to pretend she did once the heat is off. For the record here are the 13 of us who did:

Marjorie Taylor Greene accused me of attacking her personal character today. But I brought the receipts. She has a long history of religious bigotry and attacking people who don’t hold her insane views. I won’t stop calling her out.

Today we hear that Speaker McCarthy presented a PowerPoint to his caucus about his budget plans. The ten-year plan would force them to slash Social Security and Medicare. Democrats will stand up for working families.

If you believed in fiscal responsibility and that the wealthiest should pay their fair share, would you vote for a bill to cut $71.5b from the IRS, reduce revenue by $185.8b, and increase the federal deficit by $114b? 🤔

She never went to a second ballot, let alone 15. Never had to bargain away her dignity or authority to get a gavel. Never put her Caucus or the House through anything like this degrading spectacle. No one on her team ever tried to attack someone who opposed her. Real leadership.

This once-in-a-century humiliation of a party’s nominee for Speaker is chickens coming home to roost for McCarthy, who whitewashed right-wing insurrectionism on the House floor. Nobody’s getting killed now, but the House GOP now sleeps in the bed they made with Trump and Bannon.

As this session comes to an end, and a new chapter begins, I want to say again what an honor it has been to be your champion — to be a member of the most productive Congress in modern history. Onward!

A great way to ring in the new year: a $35 cap on insulin for seniors.

Beginning today, Medicare enrollees won’t have to pay more than $35 for a month’s supply of insulin because Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act last summer. This is life-changing for millions of Americans.

One of my proudest achievements has been securing a total of $37M for 24 different community projects. The recent appropriations bill includes $29M. These projects will dramatically improve the lives of Rockland and Westchester residents. Read more here👇🏿
