Safe gun storage is essential to responsible gun ownership. Guns are the leading cause of death of Illinois children ages 1-17. Beyond being a safety hazard within a home, unsecured firearms also fuel gun violence outside the home. #SafeAtHome

My bills have led to trauma-informed drills in schools, safe gun storage as part of home safety curricula in schools, public safety campaigns, & the ban of high-capacity magazines & assault weapons in Illinois.This fall I am working toward safe storage through HB5891 #SafeAtHome
