This looks like a great opportunity to work in one of the amazing research labs in Japan! The US → Japan postdoc stipend is more than double the average postdoc salary there :0

This is one of the most amazing technologies I've seen--when I saw the @biorxivpreprint paper I thought: "Wow why didn't I think of that?!"

Could one envision a synthetic receptor technology that is fully programmable, able to detect diverse extracellular antigens – both soluble and cell-attached – and convert that recognition into a wide range of intracellular responses, from transgene expression and real-time

My personal #lipidtime highlight is antigen-gated control of Gq/DAG signaling! Using PAGER-Gq, we showed DAG production driven by surface and soluble antigens in HEK cells and neurons. Plus, neuron images reveal local DAG production at antigen-contact membranes - maybe useful?

🚨New manuscript: interorganelle lipid transport is rapid, & it is hard to directly quantify discrete steps in this network, which are mediated by a large group of lipid transfer proteins working at membrane contact sites between different organelles. 1/2
