Horrific that so many people have no idea when their homes will be made safe 😔 #buildingsafetycrisis

Honestly HOW has Robert Jenrick won the first round of the Tory leadership race, on the same day that the Grenfell report is published, when he showed nothing but utter contempt for those caught up in the #buildingsafetycrisis during his years as Secretary of State for Housing?!

“The Judge concluded that every single loss of life that night was avoidable.” Perhaps the most horrifying fact to come from the 1700 page Grenfell Tower Inquiry report @grenfellunited

"The dark heart of this catastrophe lies in this simple, depressing narrative: the state stepped back, corporate greed stepped in and innocent people died." The Grenfell report is out. It is clear. Justice is needed now and this crisis needs to be fixed. https://t.co/m94X0wsRjq

Today’s report should make you angry. People died horribly and futures were wrecked because of ideology, neglect and greed, says author and housing specialist Peter Apps

🚨 Grenfell Inquiry report 🚨 - "Complacent" govt "well aware" of risk of cladding disaster but failed to act - "Systematic dishonesty" by product manufacturers "very significant reason" for fire - "Chronic and systemic" fire safety failures by tower's social landlords

The lack of urgency to remove unsafe materials from high rise buildings is incredible. People’s lives are at stake. I hope this serves as a wake up call to this government. It must ensure these buildings are remediated at pace. #buildingsafetycrisis
“How dare you”: Homeless Dagenham fire victims react to flammable material on buildings. Work to remove unsafe cladding stalls on other towers 7 years after Grenfell. @RagsMartel reports ahead of next week’s final Inquiry recommendations

We don't want politicians' thoughts & prayers. We want buildings to be made completely safe, quickly, at no cost to the victims of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. You @AngelaRayner can do this by stopping every developer who caused this from building more till they fix their mistakes.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fire in Dagenham at this very difficult time. We are in close contact with the London Fire Brigade, council and other agencies on the ground to ensure those affected are being looked after.

Horrified to wake up to this, the very thing we’ve all feared for years. It is time to fix this crisis once and for all, enough kicking the problem down the road. Fire doesn’t wait. I hope that everyone is now safe and my thoughts are with everyone affected.
Commissioner Andy Roe has provided an update on the fire in #Dagenham. He said: "To allow us to focus our resources on the incident, we have declared a major incident. "A significant search and rescue operation is underway" Read more: https://t.co/gMyTp2ZinV

Lots wondering why those in the Dagenham building were still living in a known to be unsafe building - welcome to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. 1000s of us are living in unsafe homes. @EOCS_Official have campaigned for years on this and we've always said the fire won't wait.

🔴 Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the fire in Dagenham this morning. The number one priority is that all affected residents are safe and well and get the support and answers they need. Action to make our homes safe remains urgent - and the pace must accelerate.

A major incident has been declared following a fire at a block in Barking and Dagenham where dangerous cladding was being removed. Regardless of the cause of the fire, one fact remains: 7 years since Grenfell and people still live in blocks that are unsafe and combustible.

Robert Jenrick told me I should pay a loan back for the rest of my life because someone put flammable materials in the walls of my home and I had to pay to remove it. #cladding #buildingsafetyscandal

🚨 NEW | The FBU has slammed deregulation that led to the Grenfell fire. It's right that 'stay put' is reviewed, but firefighters worked under impossible conditions. Chief officers failed to prepare. Warnings on cladding were ignored. We must face the building safety crisis.
