I grew up watching Pixar movies, Sesame Street, and Mr. Rogers. Kids today are getting addicted to slop algorithms that push Rain Bet and Sophie Rain. When did we decide to let tech companies parent your children?
"YouTube Kids is one of the scarier things. You might think your kid is safe because they're watching Miss Rachel, but the recommended feed is terrifying." "It's like AI slop coming from Russian bot farms. It's weird and it's weirdly sensual at times." - @adamfaze

This is as selfish as President Biden's decision to run for reelection. 49% of Texans *already* say they would never vote for Crockett, and she hasn't even filed yet. She'll raise a ton of cash but hurt downballot races and put a must-win Senate seat out of reach for Democrats.
JUST IN: Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) expected to launch Senate campaign ahead of candidate filing deadline The two-term congresswoman would join a Senate primary that’s expected to feature state Rep. James Talarico and former U.S. Rep. Colin Allred. https://t.co/RaMbgSM7g1

Universal healthcare is a moral imperative. It unleashes creativity. It unleashes small business. I often think about what Maine would look like if all of my friends who work incredibly hard didn't have to worry about healthcare.

The districts she’s won before: 2020: Biden +59 (state House) 2022: Biden +57 2024: Harris +47 She’s never run in a competitive GE before & her messaging is geared toward demonizing Rs & throwing red meat to the base in a state where you need to win over some Rs to have a shot.
I talked to Jasmine Crockett at length about her down-to-the-wire decision on running for Senate in Texas w/tomorrow’s deadline. “I’m not crazy. It’s weird that people believe that I could win the races that I won and I’m just like out here willy-nilly.” https://t.co/fuEPZjcgn2

Murphy is extremely high IQ for a senator
The Netflix purchase of Warner Bros. would be a disaster. It's patently illegal. But there are some quietly rooting for it because a Paramount takeover (that includes CNN) would be worse. 1/ A short 🧵on why that's the dangerously wrong way to look at this.

Who the candidate is matters!
Worth noting: Gen Z views politics through a very dif lens than prior generations. They turn out but are not loyal. They are driven by issue & personality > party ID. That's why we saw a shift right in 24. Candidate quality & that candidate's vision/message matters most.

Wrote about Tom ‘Back to Basics’ Steyer and his complete pivot on climate. Because to win an election you have to represent voters and their top priorities. You don't abandon your beliefs. You simply keep your focus on the issues that matter most. https://t.co/1nHOtmlDBs

For all the grief and criticism @SearchlightInst, @AJentleson, @treeaston et al have gotten, they’re the only left of center group I know that explicitly recognizes and is trying to fix this problem.
This is a great piece by @zackbeauchamp which echoes something I've long thought: the right is just better at creating an upwardly mobile ecosystem for its intellectuals than the left is... https://t.co/nwVP5wSzWC

The replies about abolishing the filibuster are kiling me. Yes we need to abolish it. @AJentleson wrote the damn book. The point is that your coalition should aim to win the country, not just the election. Otherwise it’s a coin toss.
Senate Democrats held seats in 36 states at the beginning of Barack Obama's presidency — including both seats in Arkansas and West Virginia. Today, they hold seats in 25. Aiming for a thin majority isn't enough. It takes a supermajority to pass legislation and improve lives.

“The people that sent me to Iraq and Afghanistan are still the people in charge…It’s why I’m fucking doing this. It gives me the opportunity to explain exactly how the fuck I got here — and how we got here.”

The candidate embodies a quarter-century of raw American frustration. It’s the source of his strength — and potentially his downfall.

If you want to win an election you have to prioritize the issues that matter most to voters. It's not about abandoning your beliefs or giving up on policy. Steyer's new focus on utility costs and mismanagement would address climate — just look at the PG&E wildfires in 2018.

How can progressives create middle ground where everyone gets a voice but no one wields a veto? @MarcDunkelman on how Donald Trump's brutal efficiency can prompt the Left to rethink how power could be exercised in America. https://t.co/vgGq27truY

Progressives have an opportunity to start thinking boldly again about how to conceive of and use public authority for Americans.

Here we go!! Working class Americans make up more than half the country, but we’ve never held more than 2% of seats in Congress. Thanks to @BernieSanders for his trust. He’s a champion for working people, and I’m proud to be endorsed by him.
Working people in Pennsylvania need a voice like @VoteBobBrooks in Congress. I am proud to endorse him.

This DGA/GBAO post-election polling memo from New Jersey shows that costs were absolutely everything in that race - and that Mikie Sherrill was trusted more than Jack Ciattarelli even on taxes (!!) https://t.co/9FKv9opGMQ

I get a lot of questions about how we should communicate with men, and particularly young men. Some thoughts on masculinity from the perspective of a Navy SEAL.
