Note that a graduate in late 20s earning £30k pays a marginal rate of 37%: income tax + NI + loan repayment. Someone in late 60s earning £30k pays income tax at 20%. That’s all. And they’ll have a c£12k state pension.

Govt hitting graduates by freezing repayment threshold. Hitting students by not increasing support in line with inflation. Hitting universities, a successful export sector, by levying a tax on income from foreign students. https://t.co/JPpE60QhYx

Don’t normally complain about the brilliant #fionabruce but my goodness can she let people finish their first sentence before she interrupts?! #bbcqt

Recently finished @hugorifkind incredible novel Rabbits. Had such an enjoyable time reading this…captured teen angst and self centred behaviour so well all set in an all too recognisable 90s world…funny, dark, clever and highly observant - really recommend! Thank you!

Would love to see @trussliz (who couldn’t outlast a lettuce) and who’s only legacy is higher mortgage costs for millions debate @campbellclaret on this… Also not sure that attacking TB for things like the equality act, HRA and climate change act are great openers #deluded

The ousting of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss are proving disastrous for the Conservatives. Gillian Keegan’s ‘hot mic’ moment shows a government in its final throes https://t.co/NKAocx00oC @CamillaTominey

The writing, production and acting combine perfectly to render all the emotions imaginable. The whole cast is spectacular but @jginorton & Zubin Varla surpassed every expectation. Thank you all for such a special experience!

Grateful if everyone could share this video of my 15-year-old black son being assaulted by two council employees. This happened 90mins ago and @sussex_police still haven’t told me where they have taken my child after they arrested him and not the men. @DavidLammy @HackneyAbbott

I shall be notifying my employer that I will only attend in person meetings if alcoholic drinks are served…I consider them entirely “necessary for work”

@lucyfrazermp @NikJohnsonCA this cannot be acceptable for the people using this service and must be extremely damaging to the local economy!

Apparently your fault again @campbellclaret - if you had this kind of power the charlatan would have been gone months before!

Sue Gray move to Starmers office not surprising. Whilst writing report, she used QC who tweeted out pro Labour anti gov tweets whilst Alistair Campbell heaped praise upon her. Her comms assistant briefed against Johnson from day 1. The Gray report was a stitch up of PM and CSs

Forgetting of course that fundamentally MPs and the public has rightly lost confidence in @BorisJohnson to continue as PM because of his manifest failures of judgement, propriety and ethics (of any kind). JRM and off of his ilk should be ashamed…of course they never are!

Low even for @Jacob_Rees_Mogg …presenting no evidence of bias, using the language of coups, attacking a “cabal” of so called socialists in the Civil Service…if anyone has seen coverage of the big lie in the states of the Jan 6 cover up on FOX its straight from that playbook

'In the case of Sue Gray, the appointment stinks! There should be an immediate investigation into her appointment by Labour and all her contacts with the office of the leader of the opposition.' @Jacob_Rees_Mogg shares his thoughts on Sue Gray's new appointment.

I look forward to this discussion on @forthemanypod this weekend…I suspect Uncle @IainDale may just be in agreement. After the Grace Blakeley incident on GMB ideologues should know better than to spout their nonsense in front of Aunty @Jacqui_Smith1

If your fiscal policy requires you to borrow tens of billions of pounds, it’s no use complaining about what the people lending you the money think of your fiscal policy.
