Just gave a talk on this guy. This is speed. Creating space, separating from a defender, changing directions. We obsess over outputs like max speed and group speed into who's the fastest. Luca uses his incredible braking ability to create space from defenders. Thats speed.

One part of movement I think a lot more about these days is FLOW . None of the worlds best are clunky, robotic or jerky in how they move.

I guess now is a good time as any to share that I’m going to be looking after the GB men’s and women’s 3x3 squads for the foreseeable. Not a bad sport for a multi-directional speed specialist!. The road to #LA2028.

Is S&C always changing and progressing? . Or has S&C barely changed in 40 years?.

I generally think people confuse functional and specific/specificity . If something is functional for that person, then it is likely specific. But just because it’s specific to them, doesn’t mean it’s always ā€˜functional’ . Clears up the ā€œbicep curls are functional for a.

@RICH_AgilityLab @danny_ruderock I agree. My point is that we can call it what we want but the functional/fascial concept makes sense. It all emanates from ideas like Myers slings or Vleemings subsystems. People argue with me about functional anatomy. Functional/fascial training is just training based on anatomy.

Can/should a bodybuilder being on stage (being judged aesthetically) be considered function? . I.e is hypertrophy a function? . Is sarcoplasmic hypertrophy training therefore functional? . Or is there no functional change? Just aesthetics? (There could be but it isn’t used in.
