If your society is less WEIRD, then politics becomes less about economic doctrine & coherent visions of the national interest & more about communal interests, sectarian deal-making and ethnic peacekeeping. This is what politics looks like across great swathes of the world.
The point about Greens becoming a party of immigrant sectarianism rather than nice white hippies & NIMBYs in the shires is that it reflects the inevitable future in a multicultural society, because coherent political ideologies are basically a WEIRD thing.
