Sorry, what is the point of raising this question and then not having the balls to be honest about your conclusions? Wasn't that the whole pitch of Restore?
'Do you think I'm English?' 'Let's put that to one side for the minute.' Nana Akua challenges Charlie Downes on his definition of what makes someone British. 📺 Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin 604 🇬🇧 Become a Friend of GB News: https://t.co/mNsRsGCG3N

David Bull is a huge liability for Reform. If there's one thing that has to be made clear to everyone, it's that you're not allowed to throw people under the bus like this. Farage refuses to do so, he needs to make sure that everyone else does the same.
🚨MATT GOODWIN IMMEDIATELY DISOWNED BY REFORM CHAIR DAVID BULL Matt said the British population is being replaced David Bull says ANYONE CAN BE BRITISH, you just need a passport "Are you disowning what he said?" "YES I AM ABSOLUTELY. It's not Reform Party Policy" REFORM WILL

What gets missed in these discussions is that nobody is actually interested in an academic description of what "British" or "English" means. Any definition is an attempt to construct a political solution to the problems of multiracial society, not a disinterested assessment of
English = exclusively ethnic, British = exclusively civic: where did this idea come from? It’s just nonsense! Both are both!

A big problem with the way in which much of the media analyses politics right now is that they fundamentally misconceive of immigration as just one issue among others. It's easy to understand the temptation to suggest that what is going on with the Greens is some sort of mirror

There is an unrelenting and entirely unjustifiable attempt from some in the media to create the "Reform's rise is over" narrative out of nothing. If the swing towards reform at this election were reflected nationally, Reform would win a landslide majority. How can you interpret

This is not a question of whether the way in which our history informs us is for better or worse - there are obvious goods and bads here, and much in between. Sometimes you need to be able to make your own decisions, regardless of whether your parents' advice is sound or not.

There has never been a people who has had such a tremendous weight of prior events upon them (because there has never been anything on the scale of WW2 before), to the extent that it is effectively impossible to conceptualize the present other than in terms of the past.

Then we will be free of the burden of history, whose lessons can be valuable but whose tyranny can be absolute, and we will be able to imagine for the first time a beautiful and terrifying future. We must be free to write the first chapter of our own stories, not the sequel to
An important under-acknowledged fact about the 21st century is that the longer it goes on the less the 20th century matters. Organic memory, the binds of experience, solidarity born out of strife - at some point it has no hold on people. It’s just a thing in a book they will

Interesting confirmation here that the self-consciously "zany" and "wacky" candidates are very often just more tedious outriders for the po-faced moralism of the status quo.
Farage is a 'big fan' of the Monster Raving Loony Party, Matt Goodwin tells one of their activists 'Never interact with Reform,' the activist says He accuses Reform of wanting to 'smash the unions', which Goodwin denies

🚨IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: As Reform makes a welcome turn away from welfarism, we thought this would be a good time to re-share Pimlico Journal's first ever article. @ScottGoetz_ calls for an end to idle Britain and some honesty on 'mental health'. READ: https://t.co/xkmcEE5XxC

Reform did about as well as expected. There were two polls in the run up, showing Reform on 27% and 29%. They got 29%. The seat is 413th on Reform’s target list. Nowcast currently has Reform on 348 seats, with 27% in Gorton and Denton. So 29% is not too shabby at all.

If you didn't catch this in J'accuse last week, you should certainly read it now. Excellent pairing with @JackHadders's piece in PJ from Wednesday, making a slightly different but equally crucial argument.
The only person who benefits from Restore is Kemi Badenoch, who Lowe has repeatedly praised. https://t.co/Q7KLAoWrjy

As for the Lib Dems getting involved in any deal, that's even more nonsensical. As the MRPs have shown very clearly, their primary competitor is going to be the Tories at the next GE, and their vote is unlikely to be split disadvantageously. There's absolutely no reason for them
I'm not talking about the average voter, I'm talking about members of parliament. You think Jo White and the hundreds of other centrist Labour MPs who will lose their seats to Reform are going to accept a deal with the Greens? It's never going to happen. For all the rhetoric,

@HeracleanVision The average voter will have no say in the matter. The parties will decide for them, and Raynor, Milliband, et al have made it clear they’re open to it. Lib Dem, Labour and Greens voters will then have no choice but to vote for their designated “good guy”. I have no pleasure in
