"However, there is now little real danger of Taiwan declaring independence... For example, current governing DPP leaders commonly say, 'Taiwan is already a sovereign and independent country, so there is no need to separately declare its independence.'" https://t.co/dSXtvs8tAz

We should be able to track a ballot just like we can track a package. California already does this, but my Vote By Mail Tracking Act—which just passed the House—would add a barcode to each ballot nationwide, so every American can have confidence their vote is counted.

This is simply nonsense! George Yeo, prominent CCP apologist, claims China doesn’t have it in its DNA to become an imperial power, completely overlooking all of history and present realities

This is simply brilliant! George Yeo, former foreign minister of Singapore explains why China 🇨🇳 is different from the West and doesn’t have it in its DNA to become an imperial power like the colonial powers or the US.

Ironically, the very country that's undermining PH independent statehood, manifested in its legitimate exercise of sovereignty and rights in the SCS, is lamenting about Manila's sacrifices. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The US government has blacklisted numerous Chinese companies for working with the People's Liberation Army OR engaging in gross human rights abuses. Why did @MSCI_Inc channel $3.7 million into these firms in 2023? Why did @BlackRock invest $1.9 billion?

Here's a two-fer. Beijing doesn't know how to keep its mouth shut when the US is up to something that it doesn't like, but it really goes the extra mile here and reminds the US that it has Chinese parts in its defense supply chain.

Somewhere in Beijing, c. 2015. Xi: What’s the deal with this ‘Thucydides trap’ thing? Advisor: The Peloponnesian war happened because Sparta feared Athens's growing power. Xi: Why didn’t Athens just tell Sparta not to fear its growing power? Staff (in chorus): Brilliant Chairman

Xi talks about #Thucydides’s Trap during his meeting with Biden but disregards it as not a historical inevitability. This comes fr a man determined to replace the US and make China a hegemon by 2049. Thus, Xi hardly means what he says even though he is responsible for an economy

Many quotables in this Pottinger interview, and a clarity that is often not easy to come by in DC. Shame he won't be back in a policy capacity.

Rhetoric like this should be immediately and publicly returned with the US state department pointing out that under international law, Taiwan's status remains unresolved, its people don't want to be annexed to the PRC, and that if war occurs, the PRC will be the cause

The CCP has been hoodwinking U.S. officials with united front tactics for nearly a century. Mao and Xi call it a “magic weapon” for a reason. If Americans keep falling for Beijing’s malign influence, we won’t be able to counter them.

The political entity is commonly called Taiwan. It is a democracy, has a government that operates independently of the PRC, and is recognized diplomatically by about a dozen nations and the Vatican. The IOC’s name of Chinese Taipei is inaccurate and not based in reality.

Imagine how it feels to win Olympic gold against opponents from the authoritarian country that wants to take your sovereignty - and when you receive your medal, your country's name, flag, and anthem are completely erased. How much longer will this indignity be forced on Taiwan?
