#bitaxe dev @johnny9dev pointed this out to me yesterday, and I think it sums up the motivation nicely; "#bitcoin mining machines are arguably the most important piece of hardware in the bitcoin ecosystem, and yet their design is a secret"

There were some reports of the pool UI being slow today - that should be resolved now.

The recent block winner came out with some details. It was a nerdquaxe++rev6 which I assembled! Cool to see all the hard work come together. https://t.co/1Vrg9ysFQC

An important thing to note: This is only possible because Public-Pool is open-source code. Open-source projects empower individuals to be self-sovereign and depend on no centralized hardware or software. *Now that you are mining to your own node, your data, your IP address, and

in the long time / λ limit, KiCad wins because you can use the raw data. In two hours, I made a tool that generates manufacturing docs that Altium still can't do. And if you could get drafts to do it, it would be a day of crashes and not useable for any other projects.

Heads up, everyone: There's a shady Chinese seller going by "yysluping" who's been pushing a bunch of knockoff products from the Nerdaxe and Bitaxe lineup. One big red flag is their version of the NerdQaxe++, it's been tweaked and messed with in ways that block you from flashing

@cguida6 @eric_lombrozo We fought & won the Blocksize War for a reason. So that we don't need to spend all our time worrying about what goes onchain. So that we don't need to go around begging people not to relay things. And so that we don't need to plead with miners not to put things in blocks

Looks like the texts were real but everyone completely missed the actual threat while debating the meaning of words. This is not the first time or the last large pools will try and collude to achieve something. Mining is not decentralized enough.

This is more concerning than Luke's hard fork phantasies: contacting pools and drafting "public letters" on "sanctioned data storage" on Bitcoin. He admitted this in the leaked chat messages. Craig Wright-level insanity. OCEAN and him are an attack on Bitcoin.
before this @theragetech article, i heard unrelated from several contacts that ocean was contacting pools with legal theories to try push their corporate counsel into moderating content. that connects with and looks much worse in context of leaked @lukedashjr IMs in this article.

The Bitaxe GT design is not finished. If it was they wouldn't have to use this AI slop image. Mineshop(dot)eu is a scam. Buy from there at your own (huge) risk.

Are you considering running a Bitcoin Knots node? It's fully within your right to do so. But if you do, you should be informed of what you're getting into. https://t.co/lWDKvv5yAG

It’s seems some of the sketchy AliExpress Bitaxes are built with a $0.25 cheaper ESP32 with less RAM. If you update your Bitaxe firmware and get a black screen… well, at least you saved some money.

Bitmain makes hands down the best, most performant Bitcoin mining ASICs by a wide margin. Everything else in their mining system is crap (especially FW), and they actively lock miners out of fixing. This is how Bitmain loses market share. There is more to mining than just the
