In his op-ed, @superwuster dismisses LGBTQ+ concerns about KOSA. Wu says the risk Republican AGs use KOSA to target platforms for hosting LGBTQ content is "exaggerated." These are the same AGs threatening to sue Target for selling LGBTQ merchandise, which they call "obscene." 🧵

Blackburn's office is defending her KOSA remarks, saying she misspoke. Regardless of that, here are the facts: 1) What she said was anti-trans 2) KOSA gives rightwingers the tools to censor trans content It's worth believing Blackburn: this is a bad bill.

Remember when Apple banned Parler, the alt-right site, from their app store? Under a new app store bill in the Senate, Apple would lose control of what apps are allowed on the iPhone, paving the way for more apps that spread hate speech and misinformation.

This deserves more context: Labor is not uniformly against autonomous vehicles. Teamsters supported the AV truck ban, but IBEW and SEIU locals testified in favor of AVs in SF. Many Dems also support autonomous vehicles. LGBTQ groups and safety advocates testified for AVs in SF.
