Yes! Wrote about this phenomenon - specificity breaks through the vibecession. When you name the problem (zoning laws, permitting delays), you transform vague dread into concrete challenges we can tackle. That's why Abundance feels optimistic despite cataloging dysfunction.
New newsletter: I've been thinking a lot recently about the politics of specificity—and the breakout political stars of the last few months. "Mamdani, MGP, and Buttigieg represent distinct corners of the Democratic tent. But their communicative successes all borrow from the same

There has been an official vibe shift for the YIMBY movement.
MAINE OFFICIALLY LEGALIZES *3* HOMES ON EVERY RESIDENTIAL LOT STATEWIDE!!!. Look how hard Maine cooked 🤯.- 3 units legal statewide.- 4 units legal in “growth areas”.- ADUs no longer limited to SFH lots.- Lowered min lot size to 5,000 in all cities

The only part of the BBB Vance cares about is ICE. There's no real "pro-natalist" plan, just vibes. A serious family policy would make it easier to have kids by lowering the cost of food, childcare, while increasing access to healthcare, not ripping those securities away.
There was a brief moment where JD Vance suggested a $5,000 child tax credit as Trump's running mate, @josephzeballos asked the campaign if this was its position and they went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, and then we ended up with a CTC boost that didn't even keep pace with inflation.

Big wins for the CA housing movement! SB 79 delivers real cost-of-living benefits, addressing our housing supply shortage + lowering environmental impact and transportation costs by reducing car dependence. More homes near transit = more affordable, sustainable communities.
BIG HOUSING NEWS: Our bill allowing more housing near transit stations (SB 79) just passed the Assembly Housing Committee!. SB 79 will make transit-oriented development the norm in California — building the homes we need, increasing transit ridership & helping our climate goals.

We still don't know how tariffs work 6 month into this thing, I see.
Our trade deal with Vietnam is a massive win for America's businesses, manufacturers, and farmers!. For the FIRST TIME EVER, Vietnam will open its market to the United States. They will pay 20% to sell their products here, and 40% on transshipping - meaning if another country

Ok but I'm glad he has been taking the name and shame approach for members in swing districts regarding how their actions could impact constituents who need this care and assistance.
Hakeem Jeffries posts pic of him holding a baseball bat with the caption: "House Democrats will keep the pressure on Trump's One Big Ugly Bill 💪"

"We spend a billion dollars to build out a rail line and then we surround the stations with single-family homes so that almost no one can actually walk to it. when you talk about increasing density from a single family zoning to lets say 50-30 units, that’s like a 3000% increase
SB 79 is on the schedule, and we’ve got a LONG line of supporters backing more housing near transit!. You love to see it. Transit-oriented development is a key reform to tackle the affordability crisis and cut emissions by reducing car dependency!
