THANK YOU—this makes my day! 😍
“Crip Spacetime: Access, Failure, and Accountability in Higher Education” by @PriceMargaret is, truly, one of the most transformational books I’ve read. I’m incredibly grateful for the way this text, and through it the Disabled Academics Study, will continue to guide our work.

Here's to the beautiful and brilliant Jon Henner (@jmhenner ), who left this world one year ago. Jon taught me about Deaf linguistics, cancer, what it means to create a "transcript" of a signed conversation, and strength training. I miss you, Jon.

Since there are professors telling students to read a lot or else they’ll never be educated, I want to remind everyone about what Paulo Freire one said: the quality of reading outweighs the quantity and that reading the world is as important as reading the word.

I can’t thank you enough. Knowing that my writing is reaching people and doing something for them is a dream I’ve had since I was a little little kid. And – – solidarity. ❤️
@PriceMargaret's Crip Spacetime was the book I always wanted to have as a reference. Now when someone asks me what its like to be disabled in academia I get to say "here's your homework - read it in full." 1/2

THANK YOU! This was one of my biggest goals in doing the study and slowly finishing the book. I noticed that in published work by disabled academics, so many people described themselves as alone, even though the stories & research record abundantly show that we’re not. ❤️❤️❤️
Reading this was such a balm. Because access challenges are mostly addressed through individual accommodations, they’re often experienced privately. It feels revelatory to see so many of these experiences described and theorised in print.

A column from a beautiful writer, bringing together lived experience, her own research, and the theory of #CripSpacetime. Thank you @krgpryal for truly getting these difficult, often ineffable things I’m trying to write about! @DukePress @PsychToday
