Why is this important? While the lit has predominantly argued that thin features of populism are not as relevant as the thick ones, we show how this appeal depends on the voter’s profile. We focused on age and subjective social decline👪 but for sure more factors are in play. 5/5

We find that, unlike older generations, for whom immigration is the most relevant factor in vote choice, Generation Z, especially the young who are pessimistic about their economic prospects, focuses more on the thin ideological elements of populism. 3/5
