Ellson’s reporting is a disgrace and his conduct on social media around this issue is childish and bullying. @thetimes should retract this article and investigate his conduct to look at why he holds a vendetta a publicly-elected official. 6/6.

Of course this is exactly the point of Ellson’s article imo, to personalise the dislike of safer street measures & target the anger on a single councillor (who happens to be a woman of colour.) Not happy with winning their court case they now want to bully her out of her job. 5/6.

Fowles is part of the wealthy West Dulwich residents group who joined with a local garage to put up over £50,000 of their money to oppose the LTN there. Ellson uses his article & follow up tweets to showcase Fowles’ accusations & attack Councillor Chowdhury. 3/6.

You’ll note the repeated phrase “is facing calls to resign”, “is facing accusations of lying”, “is facing claims” etc & you then discover the calls come from a single man, Jonathan Fowles, who is upset because Chowdhury didn’t reply to his letter. 2/6.
