What kids don't realize is conversations with text & emails are bounded closed linear extrapolation. You get more information from conversations because they're not linear. Can go in any direction. You'll always get multi-dimensional information from conversations not linear.

@nntaleb Taleb will the cost of doing tail hedging come down in the future so that the small guy with just $1000 could invest in the Universa tail hedge strategy run by Spitznagel ? What do you think? It's a liquidity problem or just that Wall Street is greedy for fees ? Paul Portesi

We need to thank people a lot more when they imagine worst case scenarios that break the imagnation of most people. Because risk management is about surviving when you don't know you're wrong. @PaulPortesi @nntaleb

Warren Buffett’s famous analogy for teaching kids about taxes is to take a humorous, hands-on approach: "The best way to teach your kids about taxes is by eating 30% of their ice cream". We need aphorisms like this about probability that are easy to get, because even a

The point is text and emails keep a conversation going back and forth. Text and emails reduce entropy and conversation increases entropy because of the method used. A verbal conversation highly likely does not stay on a straight line of answering questions that were asked.

We fall in love with the certificate, the accomplishment, the attainment but not the pursuit, the path, the essence of the subject. The arrival is never needing to arrive but in the absolute emotional drive in what you're interested in not about some payoff from that attainment

Everything from religion, macadamia, and business is focused on being right. The real information is how people behave when they're wrong. Right is easy the wrong is where the information is. I know I'm right about wrong. Right.
