In 1980 Beverly “Guitar” Watkins busked in Underground Atlanta. Once she wired a loose speaker to a cigarette machine for power after losing her amp deposit—no photo survives, but Watkins confirmed she “plugged in any way I could to make it loud.” Source: OA, Hammer. 🧵1.
