Prison crisis left by last Gov extends well beyond overcrowding. 1 in 4 prisoners only spend 2 hours a day out of their cell. And we wonder why our prisons too often fail to rehabilitate people ….
Deeply worrying report from @HMIPrisonsnews. Prisoners stuck in their cells for long periods are more likely to reoffend and suffer with their health. With the budget due in October @HMTreasury and @MoJGovUK must reverse the years of brutal funding cuts in our prisons.
