“The genie is out of the bottle” doesn’t make sense as an idiom because the genie can go back in. He actually lives in the bottle

Now, I could see a person saying, "It's improper for the US president to interfere in an ally's affairs by encouraging its territory to vote for independence," but the rhetoric has gone so far beyond that as to be disingenuous.

@favelaoverlord Cuba will be easier than Venezuela. It’s a relatively small island with a population and diaspora that hate the current regime. Also close to the U.S. so we can do round the clock bombing and close air support from the entire Gulf Coast and Florida.
