On reflection, maybe yelling that everyone was a fascist was a bit much. Now making up for all that by only sharing positive news.

Imagine how healthy and well we'd be if our bike networks enabled everyone from kids to the very elderly to cycle several kilometres every day as the Dutch do. It would save billions in health costs, clean our air and transform quality of life #BikeIsBest https://t.co/PMTPMV9Emy

We can't wait for change. To clean London's air we need a combination of interventions which work together to bring down the toxins ruining people's lives

This 👇 isn’t what kids want to see when they come out of school-they want space to run and play, trees & flowers 🌸 , a place to store their bikes 🚲.Thanks to @lambeth_council and @RezinaChowdhury the #kerbside strategy will make that a reality for many ❤️ #steeetsforkids #SE21

I would like to coin a new phrase to describe something that happens a lot in local government: 'Burger Bar Syndrome'. when it looks like there is local opposition to something, but its actually just the same Five Guys writing lots of letters and tweeting at councillors

The solution to this problem is simple. Re-prioritising and re-allocating road space to remove the need (not the option) to drive everywhere. Cheap to deliver, fantastic for public health, finances and the climate #BikeIsBest

This article suggests that around 25% of drivers would happily give up their car given attractive alternatives. Creating this choice and future is how we decarbonise transport, improve health and happiness and make better places #BikeIsBest

More than one in five drivers believe that the Government should actively be discouraging the use of private cars. An expert also claimed many who own cars "don't want to".

This petition was open to all people of all ages who live or work in all of Lambeth & was heavily promoted through leaflets, email, Facebook, nextdoor, twitter etc. And yet only 1371 signatures - a tiny proportion of the c. 15,000 people in Streatham Wells. The LTN is popular!

Most of us in Brixton Hill & Lambeth do NOT have access to a car or van - FACT. Yet our streets are dominated by them. The incoming LTN will make streets safer, greener, more inclusive - & fairer!

LTNs benefit the whole community but particularly those with no access to a car or van. Our area (green) is typical in being mostly car-free, like our neighbours in Brixton Hill (red) - roll on @BrixtonHillLTN!

@lambeth_council new Kerbside Strategy is a real reimagining of the way our streets should look. Lots of people have floated elements of this before. But this is uncompromising and complete - it actually maps to the hierarchy of use that’s been (supposedly) in place for decades

Lambeth Council has published its kerbside strategy. Really interesting document: notes that 94% of kerbside in the borough is used for parking or to regulate parking, and 6% for all else. Strategy aims to "reinstate the kerbside as a public space"
