Finally is an important word - and perhaps it reflects how non-trivial this finding was! Thanks and congrats to the whole fine team!

It's here! AND It's become better 🐸 Our fundamental work on intracellular density distributions, how it influences cellular organisation & how deviations occur during pathophysiological states like senescence is in @NatureComms Congratulations & thank you to the whole team!

Do molecular motors perform a tug-of-war or not? It’s more complicated than that: @Omar136661 and @KlumppStefan propose a model in which of motors in a tug-of-war can be activated/inactivated to shed new light into an old debate. https://t.co/lFLvcIbNpo

Many cargoes in cells are transported in a bidirectional fashion by molecular motors pulling into opposite directions along a cytoskeletal filament, e.g., by kinesins and dyneins along microtubules....

now online: our paper on tug-of-war and coordination of molecular motors. Congrats to first author Omar (@Omar136661). This started (a while back) as his BSc. thesis.

Spectacular discovery by @FrischknechtLab: #malaria #sporozoites form rotating vortices. Our theoretical analysis, now published in @NaturePhysics and led by @pintupatra05, identified the key physical aspects: self-propulsion, curved shape, chirality and mechanical flexibility

This by the @BBC is extremely wrong. 5.2 million is the number of confirmed deaths. How many people have died is not exactly known – though there are good estimates. It is certainly much higher than 5.2 million, as the testing and reporting in many parts of the world is low.

Covid-19 significantly changes the size and stiffness of red and white blood cells - sometimes over months. These results of our researchers may help to explain why some affected people continue to complain of symptoms long after an infection.

Dengue fever infects hundreds of millions every year. By infecting mosquitoes with the bacteria 'Wolbachia' we can control the spread. A new study from Indonesia reduced infections by 77% and hospitalizations by 86%. Amazing. [ https://t.co/m8xAHusMm1].

The global rate of confirmed cases has declined by more than a quarter since the peak at the end of April. This is due to positive developments in Europe, North America, & Asia. The region that is unfortunately going the other direction is South America. https://t.co/S1NdcKwVXU
