Absolutely this. The moment the police signal that a large crowd can break the law because it’s a large crowd, the law doesn’t exist. The police have - finally - today said that will not work. The law must not be cowed.
The police get a lot of criticism. But they’ve done an excellent job today. It’s clear those breaking the law thought their numbers would make them immune from arrest. And they were wrong.

We refuse to ask for anything in return for giving terrorists what they want, because we have a policy of not negotiating with terrorists. Utterly baffling justification for taking Hamas’s side from Labour.
And now Jonny Reynolds confirms: “Hamas is a terrorist organisation and we don’t put conditions on them because we don’t negotiate with terrorists”. But the UK does routinely make asks of Hamas like laying down arms and leaving Gaza. Govt position very confused this afternoon.

The Government’s own impact assessment said Martyn’s Law would cost AT LEAST 91 TIMES as much as the benefits it would yield. The road to national bankruptcy is paved with legislation with good intentions.
Martyn's Law is well meaning but will do nothing to keep us safe from terrorism and will place a huge burden on small venues. Looks as though the only beneficiaries will be civil servants.

The UK Government borrowed more in June than any month in history, except the Covid year and two other months (Dec 2009 and April 2012). Labour took less than a year to demolish the public finances.
Public sector net borrowing excluding public sector banks was £20.7 billion in June 2025. This was £6.6 billion more than in June 2024 and the second-highest June borrowing since monthly records began in 1993, behind that of June 2020. Read more ➡️

Umm, no, the UK and Germany have signed *dozens* of treaties. The UN lists 77 bilateral treaties since 1945 - and that's not counting multi-party treaties like Two Plus Four. Starmer's desperate attempt to spin this as historic just shows his pig ignorance about the world.
Amazingly this is the first ever Anglo-German treaty. And like every other sensible move in the right direction it will get up all the right noses and have Farage spluttering that we are rejoining the EU. Chance would be a fine thing.

While those at Glastonbury chant “death to the IDF”, the IDF eliminates the terrorists who killed 378 people at a music festival. God bless the IDF.
The IDF says it ELIMINATED Hakem al-Issa, a founding Hamas member and key planner of the October 7 massacre, in an airstrike last night in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood. Issa served as chief of staff for Hamas’s combat support division and was one of the last top operatives
