The reason they say "House of Leaves" and not something like Gravity's Rainbow is because no one has made a digestible slop video essay on a Pynchon novel. It's fine to enjoy some slop every once in a while, but that can't be your entire diet.
The average person wants to read Harry Potter, not House of Leaves. The average person wants to watch Marvel movies, not 'Scenes from a Marriage.' The average person wants to play streamlined, easy games, with no thinking, not Outer Wilds This holds true for every medium!
