Interesting use of English by Nick Robinson ‘The EU has offered 18% of fishing rights...’
Offered? Under the circumstances EU should be asking not offering!

Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown confirms that Boris Johnson stays on as PM whilst the process of selecting his replacement is undertaken. He offered a vote of thanks to

It’s still going on, Andrew. Very few have had convictions overturned or any recompense at all. Post Office MO is to reinvent the schemes forever and fail to provide documentation

It’s not embarrassing, it’s predictable for someone who has betrayed every part of UK society and has not spent any of her premiership bringing people together. We see she undermines her cabinet so she’s out of control and a poor communicator to boot.
@RichardJMurphy
Richard, NHS is the cereal purchaser of outsourced services. All GPs, Consultants, IT, quangos like Nat Joint Register are private companies & always have been. Then you have the PFI contracts which were always ‘live now pay forever’. 30%+ of NHS funding is compensation
@hector_drummond
@JamesDelingpole
Apparently there are 47,000 procurement managers in NHS - what have they been doing?
It seems extraordinary that we have this mental image of Matt Hancock on the phone to buy equipment for NHS when there are 47,000 employed experts in procurement paid to manage it

Like you sleep-walked into the financial crash of 2007/8? Selling the gold very badly? Created the market for selling swaps and killing businesses? …

The Spanish growers have said they’ll sort the French out. Meantime, back in Lincolnshire beautiful cauliflower, broccoli, sprouts, potatoes and carrots are ignored by the big supermarkets! The best for British produce are Lidl & Aldi! Counter-intuitive but true.

Why is it ‘staggering and terrifying’? Macron has not done well for France. Why focus on Right & Left? What does Le Pen seem to offer compared with Macron? Where has Macron failed? Why does Le Pen offer hope?

I don’t think that’s journalists’ job at all! It is the opposition who should be holding the Govt to account. Journalists should be reporting and that’s it.

It is 11 years since Laurence left his body behind when it stopped working for him and we planted it in a woodland burial with the skylark singing. It continues to be a slog and I live in the love he left behind and the love of friends. In the midst of life is death. BH Richard

Economic migrants and refugees are two different groups of people. You seem to be aiding and abetting economic migrants and their traffickers who don’t need to flee France, for its not a war zone.

Great. David was lovely. We had lots of DMs about a particular project and he was great fun. I found that I could still learn from my husband after he’d died, because I knew what he would say. That’s a lovely thing about loving & being loved. You will still learn from David.

Why is anyone selfish enough to be on holiday right now? Is it the ultimate entitlement? The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have simply stayed in Windsor. Very wise. How are these Brits being so irresponsible?

Time for

to stop. The Palace statement is quite clear and carefully worded. Prince Harry’s video is quite clear too that he didn’t get what he wanted but part time royalty isn’t an option.

Putting a glorious Liberty print treated mask on is the only way I’d even go to the hairdresser. WHO says masks are important. We have to think of others, rather than how we feel. I’m surprised at you.

I was on CBI Council when at the Conference, Blair and Adam Crozier announced it covertly. Blair was told it wouldn’t work. He knew that the pilot run by Major in 95/96 had failed and 30 SPMs had been prosecuted on that too. Mandy was Minister for the Post Office at the time

This glorious Beryl Cook painting was on the wall by my husband’s bed during his last 3 months of life. It greatly amused visiting doctors and he smiled at it too. Have to make home like home & not hospital. It’s such a lovely observation of people.
@RevRichardColes
Precious things. Keep in a box or display case. A year after his death I had my husband’s wedding ring made smaller to fit a finger on my right hand. His name and dates are engraved on the inside. It feel better than it being in a drawer.

She threw caution to the wind and organised it all regardless of the law. 6 months suspension from her job is small beer for such a hypocrite. Now for the law. Presumably a fine along with all attendees being fined and the 2 restaurants also being fined?
Best everyone avoids

I found bits and bobs in drawers all over the place! *slapped wrist* and I’ve now sorted them into colour progressions. It is a milestone day for me as I haven’t looked at doing any Bargello work since my husband died! Broken a barrier. Quite a day!

Carillon should not be bailed out. The banks & shareholders should take the hit.The Govt should then explain why it continued to give new contracts although Carillion had stated it was in a poor financial state. Was it trading in insolvency? I think we should be told

There’s no logic in her statements. She shows no connection between now and the ideal. Hopefully MPs will see sense as the energy bill is in its 3rd reading today and get it stopped or modified so that we are not all penalised in meeting that ideal. It is a draconian bill

I’ve done that. Boxes and packets of pretty bars of soap have been in storage for years but last Christmas I decided to use them instead of the hand wash pumps after they’d run out. It is delightful and I’m smug about it too ;)

It’s precisely what people did during the plague and they took the disease with them to spread further. It’s what happened last year when Chinese in Italy went home for Chinese New Year and brought it back to Northern Italy. It’s a cycle.

Still think the Post Office shouldn’t have a say in the ‘justice’ as it played dirty and clearly cannot be trusted to be objective for the SubPostmasters
@KateWilliamsme
This is surely a spoof. She married into the Royal Family but clearly doesn’t want to do what working members of the Royal Family do - royal duties and living in the public eye.
Govt is speaking of pardons for the SubPostmasters but the best way to leave no stain or taint on them is for Govt Oversight to tell Post Office it must withdraw the charges against all of them. It makes it clean and puts the responsibility where it should be

Indicates she’s not thought of helping anyone yet in her life yet she’s out shouting and swearing against democracy. Not self-aware but she is self-obsessed
The shame that should overwhelm every member of the board, the prosecution teams &

staff who brought the iniquitous & false prosecutions of innocent Subpostmasters, is seen clearly in what they’ve done to Chirag Sidhpura. Time for honesty, recompense & public remorse

She’s defensive as well as incompetent and bound to lash out. It might be worth researching how she handled the accusations re her competence as German Defence Minister. It probably followed the same pattern.
