My new National Geographic just arrived, which includes my latest feature—my 16th, and my last as a senior writer. NatGeo is laying off all of its staff writers. I’ve been so lucky. I got to work w/incredible journalists and tell important, global stories. It’s been an honor.

I know I’m being repetitive, but honestly, just look at those eyes… the teddy bears of the butterfly world currently in our meadow, these small skippers are simply beautiful. #Butterflies #butterfly #wildflowers #gardeningforwildlife

Where was the Declaration of Independence signed? The bottom of the page, obviously! More literally, the document was signed at #Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since June 28th, 1948, the Hall has been part of @INDEPENDENCENHP, which turns 75 today! #History

Urban pollinator garden in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Lots of butterflies but very few native plants. we need more native plant landscaping to combat the reduction of biodiversity occurring around the world.
