In the park today? You might notice the American flag that flies next to Independence Hall is down. We're repainting the flagpole to get ready for Flay Day this Saturday, June 14, 2025. The flag will be back up tomorrow once the paint dries and cures. #america250 #restoration

Congress Hall will be closed Monday, May 19 - Friday, June 6, 2025, as preservation teams complete comprehensive work throughout the building. To learn more about this robust project, visit the Current Projects page on the park website.

Closure Notice:. Starting Monday, April 14, 2025, Wilson Park (also.known as Christ Church Park) and the Magnolia.Garden will be closed for turf renovations. The work is.expected to last for 3.5 weeks. Check our website for updates.

Beginning Friday, March 28, 2025, the security entrance for Independence Square will be moved to the south side of Independence Hall. Visitors can access the entrance using the stairs or accessible ramp halfway down 5th Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets.

As the nation mourns the loss of President Carter, President Biden has declared a National Day of Mourning on Thursday, January 9. The park will remain open to the public on January 9, the Benjamin Franklin Museum fee will be waived, & administrative offices will be closed.
