965 New Yorkers have been killed in traffic crashes since this City Council took office. On Thursday, members of @NYC_SafeStreets held up photos of their dead family members during a Council meeting. We need common-sense street safety legislation. Daylighting now.

Traffic violence is preventable, and so are the devastating losses. We stood with advocates and family members to honor New Yorkers killed or seriously injured by crashes in our streets, offering both support and action—including through the Stop Super Speeders bill. #WDoR2025

Just as we look both ways before crossing the street, there is nowhere in our city where drivers or pedestrians are safer if their vision is blocked. Opponents of universal daylighting are attempting to obstruct Intro 1138, as well as our intersections. But the truth is clear.

Proud to join @agounardes and @NYC_SafeStreets to support the “Stop Super Speeders Act.” This bill would mandate speed-limiting technology for the most reckless drivers on the road, saving lives and making our streets safer for all.

The @NYC_DOT's Vision Zero update has a whole lotta good news, but something that stood out is the results on White Plains Road in the Bronx, where a redesign — which is what 31st Street in Astoria is based on (pending lawsuit) — saw a 40% drop in crash injuries.

"By regulating products instead of people, this legislative fix protects all riders from criminalization that could lead to extreme, punitive measures like deportation all because a hardworking New Yorker was trying to meet unrealistic demands." https://t.co/Okvlugo8CA

Our Stop Super Speeders campaign in @amNewYork Law: "In 2022, New York City became the first major U.S. city to pilot ISA [Intelligent Speed Assistance] in its municipal fleet, resulting in a 64% reduction in speeding events... The city's leadership sparked momentum in Albany."
