Stunning from @wesstreeting this morning:
Wes Streeting: “Reform is a Party that thinks that our flag only belongs to some of us who look like me, not all of us who built this country. The people who died for our freedom & democracy weren’t just my grandfather, who look like me & worship the same god as me” #bbclaurak

“School is not meant to reflect back a child’s existing world. It is meant to offer new worlds. It is meant to take the child by the hand and lead them to places they never knew existed, places beyond their postcode, places they have every right to belong.” Spot on. 👏

Teaching fewer concepts in greater depth sounds like a great idea, and in some places it might work. But it overlooks the fact that breadth of content often enables depth of conceptual understanding. Cut the content and you cut understanding too.
