Looks like government is recommending a ~1.25% pay increase for teachers next year.

Lots of people engaged with attempting to write new mathematics curricula at the moment. A year ago, for a bit of fun, I wrote a new, full curriculum for mathematics covering early years to post 16. If you're in the process of writing one, this might be useful...

It is with very good reason that those who build the most popular digital technologies ensure their own children live analogue lives.

@SchoolsWeek I frequently use "we need to think of ambition in terms of what pupils actually LEARN, not what they STUDY". Sometimes I hear people telling me how ambitious their curriculum is "because pupils study X in year 7" efc. But if pupils are not learning it, that's not ambitious!

Excellent from @emathsuk - we’ve lost sight of what should be taken as a normal range of human experience, as well as what should be considered normal range variability in physical and mental characteristics.
Couldn’t agree more @EmathsUK “Pupils now routinely describe themselves as having "anxiety" in situations where, only a decade ago, they would have simply said they were "a bit nervous." And the same is true among an increasing number of the workforce.” https://t.co/5IB43z1SK6

Strongly agree with this. Feeling nervous is a normal and important human emotion. He’s on the money with this.
